trends with staying power?

I was looking around on Refinery29 the other day and came across an article listing the top 12 trends seen in New York Fashion Week with staying power.  I'm not sure if I agree with all of them, what do you think?

Bra Tops
Cute, but how many people will really be wearing this type of top while not at the beach?

Full Skirts
I love a good full skirt!

                                                                         90's Denim
Couldn't disagree more on this one, I think this trend will leave us quickly.

                                                           Black and White Mixed Prints
Black and white never goes out of style

                                                                 Jewel Embellishments
I feel like this trend is always around, the embellishments just move locations

                                                                       Drop Waists
This can be a tough one to pull off but if the bodice is form fitting enough to still have a defined waist, like the look in the center, I think this trend works.

                                                                           Macrame
I love this trend and hope it sticks around

                                                                   Plastic Outerwear
If it's raining...

                                                                   Sheer White Layers
I am loving sheer layers in every color right now

                                                                         Vest Shirts
Not the biggest fan

                                                                  Peek-a-Boo Strips
I like this one, especially the look on the right

Look forward to hearing your thoughts!  Check out the full article here.

nails, nails, nails

I have recently been more playful with my nails and I love new ideas.  Here are some of my favorite ideas:

I love the colors and the detail on the one finger, it inspired me...

This is what I did this weekend, I love the little bit of sparkle!
I love the chrome instead of just silver.
Classic...the perfect color and shine never hurts.
I love this, it takes a classic taupe color with gold...perfect

winter wedding wednesday!

It's time to discuss the wedding dress, one of my favorite parts.  Casie is hoping for a fuller skirt but seems to be pretty open other than that.  In order to help her out I put together a bunch of dresses that reminded me of her to see if she sees a style she can't live without.

Love the simplicity and of course the pockets!

Swap the beach scene for a winter scene, obviously.  Again, great simplicity
(and pockets) and I love the neckline on this dress, no necklace needed.

This is more A-line than the ball
gown that Casie loves but the delicate
sleeves on this dress are gorgeous.

I like this shape for Casie.  She is very petite and
this dropped waste will show how adorably tiny she is
while she still gets the full skirt she wants.

This dress has a great wispy feeling and even though
there is a lot of fabric here it still feels light and airy.

And of course, while outside in the winter during the
ceremony, a wrap should help with the cold temperature.

Here is more full cape...it would keep her
warmer and be a great prop for photos later.

I had to add this one in...although this isn't the perfect fit for Casie, I just
loved the vintage quality to the long sleeved lace dress and fur shawl.

What a great idea to hep with the cold while outside and
easily removed for the inside dance party to come later
in the evening.
It's always fun to dream and it's smart to go into the dress fittings with an idea of the style you like but sometimes you never know what you end up with!  I certainly had one idea of what I wanted my dress to look like and ended with a completely different style.  Looking forward to the dress shopping to come with my sis!  I will keep everyone updated along the process, thanks for your comments!

My 30th birthday is coming up in about a month and am looking for the perfect outfit to wear, during my search I have come up with some adorable clothing at great prices and thought I would share!
$24.80 Forever21

$27.80 Forever 21

$27.80 Forever 21

Skirt: $39.99 Mod Cloth, Top: $48.00 Free People
This might be what I want to wear on my birthday, I love the skirt and low back top together.  It will be perfect from day to night and isn't too fancy or revealing and is still sexy.  I love it!  I might add a pair of bright blue ballet flats to finish off the look.
What do you think?

men's fasion

Yesterday I posted on some women's fashion that I am loving right now but what about the men?  Here are a few great looks that I would love to see more men rock here in Denver...
Houndstooth jacket, white collard shirt, a pair of cords...a great outfit for work
without wearing the standard dress pants and button down.

Love the layers mixing pattern and texture.

For a more casual look a t-shirt and jeans is
always good and you can never go wrong
 with black
And last but not least...
This man can wear a suit, enough said.

fashion

It's been a while since I have blogged about anything fashion related!  I was browsing Pinterest on a lazy Sunday afternoon and came across some lovelies I thought I should share.
I am loving this color combination it feels fresh and new for spring.

I have been into this equestrian trend lately and this jacket fits the bill.

Over sized Clutch?  Yes please!

This dress with the clutch above would be adorable.
And last but not least...
A belted pleated dress with a statement necklace, done and done.
