winter wedding wednesday

Wedding Hair!  It's time to discuss this difficult decision.  Here are some beautiful hair photos that will hopefully help to inspire the bride's do.

This is a great picture tutorial for a half up/half down look.  Very pretty.

I like these loose beachy waves for a more casual feel.

This low bun has an old school vibe.

This is a great way to pull your hair back but still have loose tendrils near your face.  Very flattering.

I love these classic waves!

This is a great "side hair" look

What's a girl to chose?

winter wedding wednesday

I have been brainstorming centerpiece ideas lately, let me know if you have a favorite!

I love the white on white combination, very elegant without being stuffy.

I love this take on the white on white but in mason jars for a more casual and relaxed wedding.

Peonies are one of my favorite flowers, but I also love the idea of greenery on the tables.  A mix of boxwood's and peonies throughout the reception could be beautiful.

This idea for the table numbers could be perfect for Casie's white, gray, and navy color palette.

I love this idea as well...Instead of flowers being the main centerpiece let the candles shine!

This was so creative I had to share it.  It incorporates the centerpiece and the table number into one very unique statement.

winter wedding wednesday

It has been a few weeks since I have been able to do a wedding post!  Today I am going to discuss bridesmaid dresses.  Originally my concept for Casie's bridesmaid dresses was based on this picture:
There will just be two of us standing up with Casie and the thought is to do two different styles and colors of dresses and then bring the two together with the maid of honor wearing a coordinating colored sash, what do you think?

We have been doing some shopping and deciding on what dresses look best on everyone and I will hold off showing the decisions made until after the wedding, I promise I will show pictures!  But in the meantime here are some other lovely bridesmaid inspirational photos:
You could always go with the standard matching dresses and bouquets.  Of course for the
winter wedding we would need to add shawls for the outside portion.
Again, make needed modifications for winter but this is an adorable idea:
Completely different styled dresses in a similar color.  It has a relaxed and
real quality vs. the photos where all bridesmaids look the same (it doesn't
hurt that they are skipping either.

Or, take it one step further and have a palette range and different colors!  I love the vintage
feel of this group.

What look do you prefer?

winter wedding wednesday

Today I thought I'd showcase some great invitation and save the date designs to get the juices flowing.  A lot of these are advertised as DIY invitations that might just save a lot of money, either way there are some great concepts ...

Cute for a winter wedding's save the date card.

Unique

I like that these invitations look professional but with that extra handmade touch.

I know, fireflies, not great for a winter wedding but I just loved this invitation and
had to share!

Simplistic and great for a mountain wedding, I think this might be my fave.

Adorable with a sense of humor

Which is your favorite?

winter wedding wednesday on thursday

Well Wednesday clearly got away from me, my apoligies.  Let's talk flowers for the wedding, here were some images that I found that could work, what do you think?

Very woodsy for a mountain wedding

Very pretty with the leaf circling the vase, but feels like spring

This is a really fun idea for the bouquet especially for a winter wedding, I don't think this works as well
for Casie but it was so pretty I had to share it.

So pretty, all white with just a touch of blue
I just love peonies!

winter wedding wednesday!

It's time to discuss the wedding dress, one of my favorite parts.  Casie is hoping for a fuller skirt but seems to be pretty open other than that.  In order to help her out I put together a bunch of dresses that reminded me of her to see if she sees a style she can't live without.

Love the simplicity and of course the pockets!

Swap the beach scene for a winter scene, obviously.  Again, great simplicity
(and pockets) and I love the neckline on this dress, no necklace needed.

This is more A-line than the ball
gown that Casie loves but the delicate
sleeves on this dress are gorgeous.

I like this shape for Casie.  She is very petite and
this dropped waste will show how adorably tiny she is
while she still gets the full skirt she wants.

This dress has a great wispy feeling and even though
there is a lot of fabric here it still feels light and airy.

And of course, while outside in the winter during the
ceremony, a wrap should help with the cold temperature.

Here is more full cape...it would keep her
warmer and be a great prop for photos later.

I had to add this one in...although this isn't the perfect fit for Casie, I just
loved the vintage quality to the long sleeved lace dress and fur shawl.

What a great idea to hep with the cold while outside and
easily removed for the inside dance party to come later
in the evening.
It's always fun to dream and it's smart to go into the dress fittings with an idea of the style you like but sometimes you never know what you end up with!  I certainly had one idea of what I wanted my dress to look like and ended with a completely different style.  Looking forward to the dress shopping to come with my sis!  I will keep everyone updated along the process, thanks for your comments!

winter wedding wednesday!

For my first Winter Wedding Wednesday post I thought we'd start with some decor ideas because other than the dress this is the most important part (for obvious reasons) in my mind.  Here are some ideas I found that, if Casie likes, we might have to incorporate in her wedding:

I like that the vases have that mountain lodge feeling but the whole arrangement
comes off very pretty and polished.

This has a vintage look and feels very personal and collected.  I have a feeling it's a little
cluttered for Casie's taste but pretty nonetheless.

I like the idea that the centerpiece provides a canopy of sorts for the table.
It's own chandelier of candles while the branches bring in an enchanted
forest quality.

This idea is one of my favorites.  Casie's ceremony will be outdoors and I doubt the candles
will stay lit or have the same effect but I like this idea for areas around the reception room.

Just adorable and in a very similar setting to what Casie and Doug have chosen.

I like that this decor idea feels very personal and intimate like someone took the time and
made everything by hand.

I like the idea of white tree branches along the isle and throughout the
interior reception rooms.  I would arrange them in a different way but still
a great inspirational image to get the juices flowing.

What are your thoughts?  Any ideas and opinions are welcome as we are planning this wedding.  We will keep everyone involved throughout the process!

mountain winter wedding anyone?

I had recently announced my sister-in-law Casie's engagement so let the planning begin!  She has decided on a mountain winter wedding and I am so excited for her and hope to help with anything she needs along the way.  I have decided to dedicate every Wednesday to winter wedding inspiration to send her some great ideas.  Please comment along the way and let her know your valuable opinions!  Check back in next Wednesday for the first entry.

Audrey Hepburn had a winter wedding so really, what could be more chic?

In honor of my sister in law getting recently engaged, here's a post of some lovely wedding inspiration.  If you had all the money in the world what would your wedding look like?
